Product Description

I. Overview

The plastic PCR tube is an essential consumable for sample loading in polymerase chain reaction (PCR) experiments. Manufactured from high-purity polypropylene (PP) through precision injection molding, featuring uniform wall thickness and smooth inner surfaces for efficient PCR reactions.

Available in 0.2ml and 0.5ml sizes, compatible with most major PCR instruments. Caps available in flat and domed styles — flat caps are suitable for quantitative PCR (qPCR), domed caps for conventional PCR. Available in clear and color (red, blue, yellow, green, etc.) options for easy sample identification.

Ultra-thin wall design ensures efficient heat transfer, tight cap sealing prevents reaction system evaporation and cross-contamination. Sterilized by gamma irradiation, DNase/RNase-free, pyrogen-free, ensuring accurate and reliable experimental results.

🔬 Product Advantages:
High-Purity PP — Low adsorption, ensures reaction system stability
Ultra-Thin Wall — Efficient heat transfer, reduces cycling time
Excellent Sealing — Prevents reaction system evaporation
Multiple Colors — Color tubes enable easy sample identification
DNase/RNase-free — Pyrogen-free, ensures experimental accuracy

III. Material & Workmanship

Manufactured from medical-grade polypropylene (PP) resin in a cleanroom environment. Tube walls are uniformly thin with smooth inner surfaces to minimize sample adsorption. Ultra-thin wall design ensures efficient heat transfer, reducing PCR cycling time.

Caps are manufactured with precision molds to ensure tight sealing, preventing reaction system evaporation during high-temperature cycling. Color tubes use medical-grade masterbatch that is free from harmful substances and does not affect PCR reactions.

Every batch undergoes rigorous dimensional, visual, and enzyme-free testing to ensure consistent quality.

Selection Guide

I. By Cap Type

Experiment TypeRecommended CapReason
Quantitative PCR (qPCR)Flat CapFlat caps are ideal for fluorescence signal collection with good light transmission
Conventional PCR, RT-PCRDomed / FlatBoth options are suitable
Multi-channel fluorescence detectionFlat CapMinimizes optical interference

II. By Color

ApplicationRecommended ColorUse Case
Routine experiments, fluorescence detectionClearCompatible with most PCR instruments, good fluorescence transmission
Multiple sample differentiationColorDifferent colors for different samples or experimental groups
Light-sensitive reactionsColor (dark)Reduces light interference with reactions

III. By Capacity

  • 0.2ml: Routine PCR, qPCR (most common)
  • 0.5ml: Large-volume PCR, long-fragment amplification

💡 Selection Tip: 0.2ml flat cap clear PCR tube is the most commonly used size, compatible with most qPCR instruments.
For multi-sample management, choose color PCR tubes.
For large-volume amplification, choose 0.5ml size.
For high-throughput operations, choose 8-strip tube format.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Below are standard operating guidelines for plastic PCR tubes. Proper use ensures PCR accuracy and reliability.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect packaging integrity, confirm no damage
  • Check the sterilization expiry date
  • Work in a laminar flow hood or PCR-dedicated area
  • Prepare PCR reaction system (primers, template, enzyme, buffer, etc.)
04

II. PCR Operation

  1. Remove PCR tube from packaging in the laminar flow hood
  2. Add the prepared PCR reaction system to the tube
  3. Do not exceed the marked capacity
  4. Close the cap securely (press until you hear a "click")
  5. Label the cap or tube body with sample ID
  6. Place the PCR tube in the PCR instrument and start the program
05

III. Disposal

  • Dispose of used PCR tubes in biohazard waste containers
  • PCR tubes containing nucleic acid samples should be disposed according to biosafety regulations

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "Seal the cap firmly to prevent evaporation" — In PCR reactions, improperly sealed caps cause reaction system evaporation, affecting results.
"Flat for qPCR, domed for routine PCR" — qPCR requires flat caps to minimize optical interference.
"Color tubes for easy identification" — Use different color PCR tubes to distinguish experimental groups or samples.
"8-strip tubes save time" — For high-throughput experiments, use 8-strip tubes to increase loading efficiency.
