Product Description

I. Overview

The plastic syringe filter is a widely used single-use filtration consumable for sample preparation and liquid filtration in laboratories. Manufactured with a high-purity polypropylene (PP) housing and PVDF, PES, or PP membranes, assembled with precision for robust construction and reliable sealing.

Available in 13mm, 25mm, and 33mm sizes with 0.22μm and 0.45μm pore sizes. Sterilized by gamma irradiation and individually packaged for immediate use in HPLC sample preparation, media sterilization, protein filtration, and buffer filtration.

🔬 Product Advantages:
Multiple Membrane Options — PVDF (low protein binding) / PES (high flow) / PP (chemical resistant)
Multiple Sizes — 13/25/33mm for varying sample volumes
Sterile Individually Packaged — Ready-to-use, prevents cross-contamination
Low Extractables — Ensures sample purity after filtration
Chemical Resistant — Compatible with various solvents and aqueous solutions

II. Key Performance Parameters

  • Housing Material: High-purity Polypropylene (PP)
  • Membrane Material: PVDF / PES / PP
  • Sizes: 13mm / 25mm / 33mm
  • Pore Sizes: 0.22μm / 0.45μm
  • Effective Filtration Area: 0.8cm² (13mm) / 4.2cm² (25mm) / 6.5cm² (33mm)
  • Sterilization: Gamma irradiation
  • Packaging: Sterile individually wrapped
  • Max Operating Pressure: 6 bar (87 psi)

III. Material & Manufacturing

The product uses medical-grade polypropylene (PP) for the housing and PVDF (low protein binding), PES (high flow rate), or PP (chemical resistant) membranes.

Membrane and housing are precision-assembled in a cleanroom environment to ensure sealing integrity and filtration efficiency. Sterilized by gamma irradiation and individually packaged for immediate use.

Selection Guide

I. Select by Membrane Material

MembranePropertiesApplications
PVDFLow protein binding, broad chemical compatibilityProtein solutions, biological samples, HPLC
PESHigh flow, low protein binding, hydrophilicAqueous solutions, media, buffers
PPChemical resistant, solvent compatibleOrganic solvents, strong acids/bases

II. Select by Pore Size

  • 0.22μm: Sterilization, fine particle removal
  • 0.45μm: Clarification, coarse particle removal

III. Select by Size

  • 13mm: Small volume samples (< 2ml)
  • 25mm: Standard volume samples (2-10ml)
  • 33mm: Large volume samples (> 10ml)

💡 Selection Tips: Protein samples → Choose PVDF (low protein binding)
Aqueous/media → Choose PES (high flow rate)
Organic solvents → Choose PP (chemical resistant)
HPLC sample prep → 0.22μm PVDF recommended

Operation & Maintenance

Operating Guide

03

I. Preparation

  • Check package integrity and sterilization expiry
  • Prepare a compatible syringe
  • Ensure a clean working environment
04

II. Operating Steps

  1. Remove the syringe filter from its sterile packaging
  2. Attach the filter to the syringe outlet
  3. Slowly depress the plunger and collect the filtrate
  4. Avoid excessive pressure to prevent filter damage
  5. Dispose of used filters according to lab waste protocols

💡 Tips from Experienced Technicians: "Pre-rinse" — Pre-wet the filter with a small amount of sample to ensure representative filtrate.
"Single-use only" — Syringe filters are single-use consumables; do not reuse.
"Watch max pressure" — Do not exceed 6 bar to prevent membrane rupture.
"Choose the right pore size" — 0.22μm for sterilization, 0.45μm for clarification.
