Product Description
1. Overview
The porcelain Buchner funnel consists of a wide-mouthed cone and an integrated perforated porcelain plate. Combined with a filter flask and a vacuum pump, it creates negative pressure inside the flask to filter quickly. Compared with gravity filtration it is markedly faster, which helps with fine, hard-to-filter precipitates.
Formed in one piece from hard porcelain, the filter plate has even pores and a flat surface so the filter paper seats tightly and leakage caused by torn paper is avoided. The porcelain body is chemically stable and tolerates common acid, alkali and organic media, with the exception of hydrofluoric acid and hot alkali fusion.
Standard diameters run from 60mm to 300mm. Small sizes suit micro samples and teaching demonstrations, while large sizes handle batch samples and scale-up solid-liquid separation. Match the funnel with a filter flask of suitable capacity, using a rubber stopper or gasket where needed for a tight seal.
🔬 Types & Features:
One piece — plate and body fired together, firmly bonded.
Perforated plate — even pores keep the filter paper flat.
Acid, alkali and heat resistant — repeated rinsing and oven drying.
Full size range — 60mm to 300mm, from micro to batch work.
2. Key Parameters
- Material: hard porcelain (glazed inside and out)
- Sizes: diameter 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 / 150 / 200 / 300 mm
- Filter plate: integrated perforated porcelain plate
- Corrosion: resists common acids and alkalis; not for HF or alkali fusion
- Accessories: filter flask, vacuum pump, filter paper
- Applications: vacuum filtration, crystal washing, precipitate collection
3. Material & Workmanship
The funnel is formed in one piece from quality ceramic material and fired at high temperature, so the plate and body are bonded firmly and resist deformation. Plate pores are controlled uniformly, letting the filter paper seat flat and seal reliably.
Handling tip: rinse and dry the funnel before first use; if the plate clogs, soak it in dilute acid and flush with clean water.
