Product Description

The Narrow-Mouth Reagent Bottle is the standard container for liquid reagent storage in laboratories, manufactured from soda‑lime glass (borosilicate glass 3.3 optional). The narrow mouth design effectively reduces evaporation and contamination, while the ground glass stopper provides a secure seal, ensuring long‑term reagent stability.

Key Features

  • Soda‑lime glass (standard): Good chemical stability, moderate thermal expansion coefficient — cost‑effective for routine laboratory use
  • Borosilicate glass 3.3 (optional): ISO 3585 compliant, extremely low thermal expansion (3.3×10⁻⁶/K), thermal shock resistant to 280°C — ideal for autoclaving and demanding applications
  • Narrow mouth design: Smaller inner diameter reduces evaporation — ideal for long‑term liquid reagent storage
  • Ground glass stopper: Precision‑ground fit ensures an airtight seal, preventing evaporation and contamination
  • High clarity: Pure, transparent glass allows easy visual inspection of contents and liquid level
  • Chemical resistant: Excellent resistance to most acids, alkalis, and organic solvents

Quality Assurance

Every bottle undergoes rigorous dimensional inspection, seal integrity testing, and visual examination to meet the high standards required in professional laboratories.

Note: Standard configuration is soda‑lime glass. Borosilicate glass 3.3 is available upon request. When storing strong alkaline solutions, we recommend using a rubber stopper to prevent the glass stopper from seizing.

Applications

Typical Uses

Chemistry labs

Storage of inorganic reagents, organic solvents, and standard solutions

Pharmaceutical industry

Storage and dispensing of APIs, intermediates, and reagents

Biology labs

Storage of buffers, media, and staining solutions

Educational labs

Storage of common reagents for university and high school chemistry labs

Food testing

Storage of food additives and standard materials

Compatibility Recommendations

Bottle + Glass Stopper

Ideal for most liquid reagent storage applications

Bottle + Rubber Stopper

Recommended for strong alkaline solutions to prevent glass stopper seizing

Bottle + Label

We recommend using reagent labels for easy identification and inventory management

Tip: Use narrow‑mouth and wide‑mouth reagent bottles together to cover all your solid and liquid reagent storage needs. For applications requiring higher thermal and chemical resistance, we recommend choosing borosilicate glass 3.3.

Operation & Maintenance

Reagent Bottle User Guide

03

Before Use

  • Inspect for cracks, chips, or scratches before use
  • Ensure the bottle is clean and dry to prevent contamination of reagents
  • Verify that the stopper fits properly — no wobble or sticking
  • Select the appropriate stopper type (glass/rubber) based on your reagent
04

Storage Procedure

  • Pour reagent slowly down the inner wall to avoid splashing
  • Fill to no more than 80% capacity to allow for expansion and handling
  • Gently rotate the stopper to ensure a snug, secure seal
  • Wipe the exterior clean and apply a reagent label (name, concentration, date, etc.)
  • Store in a cool, dry, well‑ventilated area away from direct sunlight
05

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean promptly after use to prevent residue from hardening
  • For routine cleaning, use detergent with a bottle brush, rinse 3× with distilled water
  • For stubborn residues, soak in dilute acid or specialty cleaning solution
  • Allow to air‑dry inverted on a draining rack
  • For long‑term storage, place a small piece of paper between the stopper and the neck to prevent seizing

Care & Notes

Safety Notice

  • Always inspect for cracks or damage before use — damaged bottles may break during use
  • For strong alkaline solutions, use rubber stoppers to prevent glass‑to‑glass seizing
  • For hydrofluoric acid and other specialty reagents, confirm material compatibility before use
Do not
  • Do not place reagent bottles directly on hot plates or open flames
  • Handle with care — avoid impact and rough handling
