Product Description

The straight vacuum adapter is an essential interface component for vacuum evacuation and gas exchange in standard taper glassware systems. Its clean, straight-through design features a hose connection at the top for attaching vacuum pumps or inert gas supplies, and a standard taper joint at the bottom (available in either outer or inner joint configuration) for secure connection to reaction vessels or distillation apparatus. The short gas path ensures rapid vacuum or gas exchange. Optional glass or PTFE stopcocks provide precise flow control, while a G2 fritted disc option prevents solid particles from contaminating the reaction system. Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Before Use

Inspect for cracks, chips, or scratches on any joint
Check that the stopcock (if present) rotates smoothly
Clean all joint surfaces with a soft cloth to remove particulates
Confirm that the joint sizes of all components match

Installation

Outer Joint Type: Insert the outer joint into the receiving flask inner joint and gently twist to seat
Inner Joint Type: Fit the inner joint over the distillation head outer joint and gently twist to seat
Connect the top hose fitting to vacuum or inert gas lines using appropriate tubing
For vacuum applications, ensure all joints are well‑seated

Stopcock Operation

For glass stopcocks, apply a thin layer of vacuum grease if needed
PTFE stopcocks require no lubrication — use directly
Rotate the stopcock gently; avoid excessive force

Cleaning & Storage

Clean immediately after use to prevent blockage
Use soft brushes and appropriate detergents for the hose fitting and joint
For fritted versions, take extra care to clean the frit area thoroughly
Air dry and store with protective paper between ground joints
