Product Description

The low-form flat-mouth beaker features a flat rim without a pouring spout, providing a smooth, even surface. This design enables the use of sealing lids for secure sample storage, effectively preventing evaporation and contamination. The flat-mouth design also makes these beakers particularly suitable for use with automated laboratory systems.

Three Series · Flexible Selection

RichTech offers beakers in low-form (spouted), tall-form (spouted), and flat-mouth series:

1. Low-Form Beakers (Spouted)

  • Low-profile design with a low center of gravity for stable heating and stirring.
  • Spout ensures smooth, drip-free pouring.
  • Ideal for routine solution preparation, heating reactions, and liquid transfer.

2. Tall-Form Beakers (Spouted)

  • Taller profile effectively prevents splashing during heating and reactions.
  • Spout for smooth pouring.
  • Designed for extended heating and samples prone to splashing.

3. Flat-Mouth Beakers

  • Flat rim with no spout, compatible with sealing lids.
  • Ideal for applications requiring sealed storage or contamination prevention.
  • Particularly suited for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and automated systems.

Design Features

  • Flat-Mouth Design: The rim is smooth and even without a pouring spout, compatible with sealing lids for secure sample storage and contamination prevention.
  • Low-Profile Design: The height-to-diameter ratio is low, providing a low center of gravity for stable heating and stirring operations with reduced tipping risk.
  • Clear Graduations: White or blue graduated markings on the beaker body allow for quick volume reading, meeting routine laboratory needs.
  • Uniform Wall Thickness: Even wall thickness minimizes thermal stress during heating, reducing the risk of breakage.

Material Advantage

Manufactured from Borosilicate Glass 3.3 in accordance with ISO 3585 standards. The ultra-low coefficient of thermal expansion (3.3×10⁻⁶/K) ensures resistance to thermal shock up to 280°C, making it suitable for heating, cooling, and a wide range of laboratory operations.

Quality Assurance

Every piece undergoes rigorous dimensional inspection, stress testing, and visual inspection to meet high laboratory standards, providing reliable performance for your experiments.

Note: Flat-mouth beakers do not have a pouring spout. When pouring liquids, we recommend using a glass rod for guidance to prevent liquid from running down the outer wall. For sealed storage, please select compatible sealing lids.

Tip: Low-form flat-mouth beakers are particularly well-suited for sealed storage and automated system integration due to their flat rim design. For sealed storage, we recommend selecting compatible sealing lids. When pouring, use a glass rod for guidance to prevent liquid from running down the outer wall.

Beaker Procedure

03

Sealing & Storage

  • Flat-mouth beakers are designed to be used with sealing lids for secure sample storage.
  • Ensure the rim is clean, dry, and free of residue before sealing.
  • Select a sealing lid that matches the beaker O.D. for optimal sealing performance.
  • For long-term storage, periodically check lid sealing performance.
04

Heating

  • Always heat beakers using a wire gauze or hot plate to ensure even heat distribution and prevent localized overheating.
  • Do not fill the beaker beyond 2/3 of its capacity to prevent boiling over during heating.
  • Gently stir with a glass rod during heating for even temperature distribution.
  • When heating liquids, do not point the beaker opening toward yourself or others to prevent injury from splashing.
05

Pouring & Transferring

  • Flat-mouth beakers do not have a spout. When pouring, use a glass rod as a guide — place the rod against the rim and pour liquid along the rod into the receiving container to prevent liquid from running down the outer wall.
  • Tilt the beaker slowly to avoid overflow.
06

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean promptly after use to prevent residue from drying and hardening.
  • Use dilute acid or specialized cleaning agents for stubborn residues.
  • Rinse with distilled water and air-dry upside down on a drying rack.
  • Store carefully to avoid chipping and breakage.
  • For long-term storage, ensure beakers are completely dry to prevent glass corrosion.

Clean and dry thoroughly after each use to extend product life.

Care & Notes

Show care & notes

Safety Notes

  • Inspect beakers for cracks or scratches before use — damaged glass may break when heated.
Do not
  • Always use a wire gauze or hot plate when heating — never place a beaker directly over an open flame.
  • When heating liquids, do not point the beaker opening toward yourself or others.
  • Do not place hot beakers directly into cold water — thermal shock may cause breakage.
  • Handle and store with care, avoiding impact with hard surfaces.
