Product Description

The low-form beaker is one of the most essential containers in the laboratory. Its low-profile design provides excellent stability during heating and mixing operations, while the spout ensures precise, drip-free pouring. The beaker features uniform wall thickness and a flat bottom for stable placement on hot plates or workbenches.

Three Series · Flexible Selection

RichTech offers beakers in low-form (spouted), tall-form (spouted), and flat-mouth series:

1. Low-Form Beakers (Spouted)

  • Low-profile design with a low center of gravity for stable heating and stirring.
  • Spout ensures smooth, drip-free pouring.
  • Ideal for routine solution preparation, heating reactions, and liquid transfer.

2. Tall-Form Beakers (Spouted)

  • Taller profile effectively prevents splashing during heating and reactions.
  • Spout for smooth pouring.
  • Designed for extended heating and samples prone to splashing.

3. Flat-Mouth Beakers

  • Flat rim with no spout, compatible with sealing lids.
  • Ideal for applications requiring sealed storage or contamination prevention.
  • Particularly suited for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and automated systems.

Design Features

  • Spout Design: The beaker rim features a pouring spout that directs liquid flow during pouring, preventing liquid from running down the outer wall and reducing sample loss and contamination.
  • Low-Profile Design: The height-to-diameter ratio is low, providing a low center of gravity for stable heating and stirring operations with reduced tipping risk.
  • Clear Graduations: White or blue graduated markings on the beaker body allow for quick volume reading, meeting routine laboratory needs.
  • Uniform Wall Thickness: Even wall thickness minimizes thermal stress during heating, reducing the risk of breakage.

Material Advantage

Manufactured from Borosilicate Glass 3.3 in accordance with ISO 3585 standards. The ultra-low coefficient of thermal expansion (3.3×10⁻⁶/K) ensures resistance to thermal shock up to 280°C, making it suitable for heating, cooling, and a wide range of laboratory operations.

Quality Assurance

Every piece undergoes rigorous dimensional inspection, stress testing, and visual inspection to meet high laboratory standards, providing reliable performance for your experiments.

Note: When heating, use a wire gauze or hot plate for uniform heat distribution to prevent localized overheating. Do not fill the beaker beyond 2/3 of its capacity to prevent boiling over during heating.

Applications

Common Configurations

  • Hot Plate + Beaker Solution heating, sample dissolution
  • Glass Rod + Beaker Stirring, mixing reagents
  • Wire Gauze + Beaker Uniform heating, preventing localized overheating
  • Watch Glass + Beaker Dust cover, evaporation

Specific Applications

Solution Preparation

Standard solutions, buffers, culture media

Sample Dissolution

Heating dissolution of solid samples

Heating Reactions

Water bath heating, hot plate heating

Titration

As a receiving vessel for titration reactions

Liquid Transfer

The spout facilitates clean liquid transfer

Teaching Labs

Basic chemistry experiments in schools and universities

Pharmaceutical QC

Sample preparation, quality testing

Environmental Monitoring

Water sample processing, reagent preparation

Tip: Low-form beakers are particularly well-suited for extended heating or stirring operations due to their low center of gravity and excellent stability. The spout is especially useful when transferring liquids — simply align the spout with the receiving container and tilt the beaker slowly for a smooth pour.

Beaker Procedure

03

Heating

  • Always heat beakers using a wire gauze or hot plate to ensure even heat distribution and prevent localized overheating.
  • Do not fill the beaker beyond 2/3 of its capacity to prevent boiling over during heating.
  • Gently stir with a glass rod during heating for even temperature distribution.
  • When heating liquids, do not point the beaker opening toward yourself or others to prevent injury from splashing.
  • For solid samples, gently swirl the beaker for even heating.
04

Stirring & Mixing

  • When using a glass rod, stir slowly along the wall of the beaker to avoid hitting the bottom.
  • Avoid scraping the glass rod against the wall to prevent damaging the inner surface.
  • For magnetic stirring, select a stir bar that matches the beaker capacity.
  • Place the stir bar into the beaker before adding liquid to avoid impact against the wall.
05

Pouring & Transferring

  • When pouring, align the spout with the receiving container and tilt the beaker slowly.
  • The spout is designed to guide liquid flow and prevent liquid from running down the outer wall.
  • For precise transfer, use a glass rod as a guide — place the rod against the spout and pour liquid along the rod into the receiving container.
06

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean promptly after use to prevent residue from drying and hardening.
  • Use dilute acid or specialized cleaning agents for stubborn residues.
  • Rinse with distilled water and air-dry upside down on a drying rack.
  • Store carefully to avoid chipping and breakage.
  • For long-term storage, ensure beakers are completely dry to prevent glass corrosion.

Tip: Low-form beakers offer excellent stability for extended heating operations. The spout design facilitates clean liquid transfer. Clean and dry thoroughly after each use to extend product life.

Care & Notes

Show care & notes

Safety Notes

  • Inspect beakers for cracks or scratches before use — damaged glass may break when heated.
Do not
  • Always use a wire gauze or hot plate when heating — never place a beaker directly over an open flame.
  • When heating liquids, do not point the beaker opening toward yourself or others.
  • Do not place hot beakers directly into cold water — thermal shock may cause breakage.
  • Handle and store with care, avoiding impact with hard surfaces.
