Product Description

The hexagonal-bottom cylinder features a unique hexagonal base design for superior stability and tip resistance. The body is manufactured from high-quality borosilicate glass 3.3 with clear, accurate graduations. Ideal for applications requiring frequent handling and extra stability — a safe and efficient measuring tool for teaching, pharmaceutical, and chemical laboratories.

Three Series · Flexible Selection

RichTech offers cylinders in round-bottom, hexagonal-bottom, and plastic-base series:

1. Round-Bottom Cylinders

  • Traditional round-bottom design.
  • Suitable for routine laboratory liquid measurement.

2. Hexagonal-Bottom Cylinders

  • Hexagonal base for stable, tip-resistant placement.
  • Ideal for high-frequency use and applications requiring extra stability.

3. Plastic-Base Cylinders

  • Glass body with plastic base and protective ring.
  • Impact-resistant and breakage-reducing — especially suitable for teaching and frequent-use environments.

Graduation Options · Three Choices

RichTech offers three graduation technologies to meet different durability and precision requirements:

  • White/Blue Printed Graduations (Standard): Fired with high-quality ceramic ink at high temperature, clear and legible. Meets routine laboratory needs with excellent cost-effectiveness.
  • Copper-Red Printed Graduations (Premium Option): Fired with special ceramic ink featuring a distinctive copper-red color. Resistant to acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and chemical corrosion — does not fade or peel. Ideal for laboratories handling corrosive reagents on a regular basis.
  • Laser-Engraved Graduations (Premium Option): Permanently etched into the glass surface using precision laser technology. Sharp, clear, and completely wear-resistant — impervious to any chemical reagent. Perfect for high-frequency use, long-term applications, and high-purity environments.

Design Features

  • Hexagonal Base: Provides a larger contact area with the work surface, offering superior stability and effectively preventing accidental tipping during operation.
  • Clear Graduations: White/blue printed, copper-red printed, or laser-engraved options for quick and accurate volume reading.
  • High Transparency: Pure, clear glass for easy observation of liquid levels and color changes.
  • Uniform Wall Thickness: Even thickness provides strength and reduces breakage risk.

Material Advantage

Manufactured from Borosilicate Glass 3.3 in accordance with ISO 3585 standards. The ultra-low coefficient of thermal expansion (3.3×10⁻⁶/K) ensures resistance to thermal shock up to 280°C.

Quality Assurance

Every piece undergoes rigorous dimensional inspection, accuracy verification, and visual inspection to meet high laboratory standards, providing reliable performance for your experiments.

Note: Hexagonal-bottom cylinders feature a stable hexagonal base for secure placement on level surfaces. Do not heat directly. The hexagonal base design is particularly suitable for frequent-use environments where stability is critical.

Applications

Common Configurations

  • Hexagonal-Bottom Cylinder Routine liquid measurement with enhanced stability
  • Pipette + Hexagonal-Bottom Cylinder Precise transfer and measurement
  • Beaker + Hexagonal-Bottom Cylinder Solution preparation and dispensing
  • Dropper + Hexagonal-Bottom Cylinder Precise liquid addition

Specific Applications

Teaching Labs

Basic chemistry experiments in schools and universities — stable and safe for frequent handling

Solution Preparation

Standard solutions, buffers, culture media

Sample Measurement

Volume determination of environmental water, food, and pharmaceutical samples

Pharmaceutical Production

API preparation, intermediate testing

Chemical Analysis

Liquid measurement for raw material and product purity analysis

Food Testing

Liquid measurement for food composition analysis

Tip: Hexagonal-bottom cylinders offer superior stability and tip resistance, making them ideal for teaching laboratories and frequent-use environments. The hexagonal base prevents accidental tipping, reducing sample loss and safety risks during routine operations.

Cylinder Procedure

03

Preparation

  • Inspect the cylinder for cracks, scratches, or other defects.
  • Ensure the cylinder is clean and dry before use.
  • Select a cylinder with appropriate capacity for the volume to be measured.
  • Check that the hexagonal base is intact and provides stable placement.
04

Measurement

  • Place the cylinder on a level surface — the hexagonal base ensures stable contact with no rocking.
  • Pour liquid slowly along the inner wall to prevent liquid from running down the outer wall.
  • Read the volume with your eye level with the lowest point of the meniscus.
  • Read to the nearest 1/5 of the smallest graduation or as required by your procedure.
05

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean immediately after use to prevent residue from drying.
  • Cylinders with white/blue printed graduations can be cleaned with standard laboratory detergents.
  • Copper-red printed graduations resist acid and alkali — standard cleaning methods are suitable.
  • Laser-engraved graduations can withstand more aggressive cleaning methods without affecting the markings.
  • Use dilute acid or specialized cleaning agents for stubborn residues.
  • Rinse with distilled water and air-dry upside down on a drying rack.
  • Store carefully to avoid chipping and breakage.

Tip: Hexagonal-bottom cylinders provide superior stability and tip resistance, making them ideal for frequent-use environments. Proper use and maintenance significantly extend service life, ensuring safe and efficient laboratory operations.

Care & Notes

Show care & notes

Safety Notes

  • Inspect cylinders for cracks or scratches before use — damaged glass may break during use.
  • Place the cylinder on a level surface for accurate reading.
Do not
  • Do not heat hexagonal-bottom cylinders directly — the hexagonal base distributes heat unevenly.
  • Do not use cylinders for vigorous stirring or grinding operations.
  • Handle and store with care, avoiding impact with hard surfaces.
