Product Description

I. Overview

The PTFE Erlenmeyer flask is manufactured from high-purity PTFE resin through cold pressing and high-temperature sintering. The classic conical design features a narrow neck for sealing and pouring, and a wide base for excellent stability. PTFE offers superior chemical inertness, hydrophobicity, and non-stick surfaces.

Available with screw caps or vent caps with 0.22μm PTFE membranes for gas exchange applications. Suitable for organic synthesis, cell culture, titration operations, and sample storage.

Available in sizes from 50ml to 1000ml, widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical, life sciences, and environmental testing industries.

II. Core Performance Parameters

  • Purity: High-purity PTFE with ultra-low metal leaching (Pb, U < 0.01ppb)
  • Operating Temperature: -196℃ ~ 260℃, short-term up to 300℃
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to HF, aqua regia, concentrated H₂SO₄, HNO₃, strong alkalis, and organic solvents
  • Surface Properties: Hydrophobic, non-stick, easy to clean
  • Sealing Options: Screw cap / Vent cap (0.22μm PTFE membrane)

III. Material & Workmanship

Manufactured from imported high-purity PTFE resin, precision cold-pressed in molds, and sintered in high-temperature furnaces — ensuring dense structure, smooth surface, and bubble-free finish. Caps and bodies are made from the same PTFE material for complete chemical compatibility.

All products are assembled and packaged in cleanroom environments to ensure contamination-free surfaces.

Selection Guide

I. By Sealing Type

ApplicationRecommended SealingDescription
Cell CultureVent Cap (0.22μm PTFE)Gas exchange, maintains sterility
Organic SynthesisScrew CapGood sealing, prevents evaporation
Sample StorageScrew CapLong-term sealed storage
Titration OperationsScrew CapEasy swirling and pouring

II. By Capacity

  • 50ml ~ 100ml: Small-volume reactions, precious samples, microscale synthesis
  • 250ml: Routine organic synthesis
  • 500ml: Medium-scale reactions, cell culture
  • 1000ml: Large-volume reactions, batch culture

💡 Selection Tip: Fill volume should not exceed 2/3 of flask capacity to allow for reaction and stirring space.
For cell culture, use caps with 0.22μm PTFE vent membranes to allow gas exchange while maintaining sterility.
To view contents, choose PFA material (translucent).

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Standard operating guidelines for PTFE Erlenmeyer flasks. Proper use and maintenance significantly extend product life and ensure laboratory safety.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect the flask for cracks, deformations, and ensure the cap seal is intact
  • Clean with ultrapure water or appropriate solvent to remove manufacturing residues
  • For trace analysis applications, soak in 10% nitric acid for 24 hours, rinse thoroughly with ultrapure water, and dry
  • For sterile applications, autoclave (121℃, 15-20min)
04

II. Loading & Assembly

  1. Add solids directly through the opening; use a funnel for liquids
  2. Fill volume should not exceed 2/3 of capacity
  3. Tighten the screw cap or vent cap to seal
05

III. Heating & Reaction Operations

  • Heatable on hotplates or heating mantles — temperature ≤ 250℃
  • Use stirring (magnetic stir bar or manual swirling) for uniform mixing
  • For reflux reactions, use a condenser with an appropriate adapter
06

IV. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Routine Cleaning: Clean promptly after use with detergent and a soft cloth or sponge
  • Stubborn Residues: Soak in dilute nitric acid — PTFE's non-stick surface makes cleaning easy
  • Sterilization: Autoclave (121℃, 15-20min) or dry heat sterilization
  • Important: Do not use hard brushes or abrasives — they may scratch the inner surface
06

V. Important Notes

  • PTFE is relatively soft — avoid dropping or impact with hard objects
  • Do not heat with open flame
  • Avoid contact with molten alkali metals (Na, K) and elemental fluorine

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "The Erlenmeyer's conical shape was made for swirling" — the tapered design allows vigorous swirling without splashing, perfect for manual mixing and vortexing.
For cell culture, do not over-tighten vent caps — maintain gas exchange.
For magnetic stirring, use PTFE-coated stir bars to protect the inner surface.
