Porcelain Combustion Boats

Tube-Furnace Charging Boats · 72mm~97mm · Carbon & Sulfur Analysis

Porcelain combustion boats carry samples in tube furnaces and carbon/sulfur analyzers. Fired from quality hard porcelain, the boats stay straight and dimensionally stable at heat, so pusher charging runs smoothly. Five lengths from 72mm to 97mm fit common analyzer boats holders and tube furnaces.

Product Description

1. Overview

Combustion boats carry samples through tube furnaces and infrared carbon/sulfur analyzers. The hard-porcelain bodies stay flat and resist deformation at temperature, keeping pusher charging smooth and sample positioning accurate.

Five lengths from 72mm to 97mm match common instrument boat holders. Boats may be reused after cleaning or used once: single-use prevents cross-contamination in low-carbon precision analysis, while routine ignition duty allows reuse.

Load samples evenly without overfilling, seat gently in the holder, and let boats cool before removal to avoid cracking.

🔬 Types & Features:
Straight and true — no snagging in pusher charging.
Five lengths — fits mainstream furnaces and analyzers.
Heat stable — dependable in combustion duty.
Flexible use — single-use for precision, reusable for routine.

2. Key Parameters

  • Material: hard porcelain
  • Length: 72 / 77 / 82 / 88 / 97 mm
  • Temperature: routine tube-furnace duty
  • Straightness: smooth charging, no snagging
  • Fit: IR carbon/sulfur analyzers, tube-furnace holders
  • Usage: single-use or cleaned and reused

3. Material & Workmanship

Pressed and sintered from quality ceramic stock with smooth rounded edges. Straightness and dimensions are inspected per batch for reliable holder fit.

For C/S analysis, stock boats in batches together with tongs and drying dishes to complete the charging toolkit.

Operation & Maintenance

Operation Guide

Standard operating guide for combustion boats.

03

Before Use

  • Inspect for cracks and deformation
  • Burn residues off reused boats and cool
  • Confirm boat size against the instrument
  • Prepare boat tongs or crucible tongs
04

Procedure

  1. Spread the sample in a thin even layer without overfilling
  2. Seat the boat gently in the instrument holder
  3. Push into the hot zone per the instrument program
  4. Allow the boat to cool before removal
  5. Discard single-use boats after the run
  6. Clean, burn off and store reusable boats
05

Cleaning & Care

  • Burn off residues before cleaning reused boats
  • Retire cracked or deformed boats
  • Handle gently to protect edges
  • Store in compartmented dry boxes

💡 Lab veteran tips: Load evenly — thin layers burn completely.
Verify size — check holder length before ordering.
Cool first — red-hot boats crack if mishandled.
Avoid cross-contamination — one boat per run for precision work.
