Tip: Chromatography columns can be used with standard joint accessories. It is recommended to use fittings of the same joint size for sealing.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Preparation

Inspect column for cracks, chips, or scratches on joints
Clean joint surfaces with a soft cloth to remove particulates
If packing is needed, ensure the frit (if present) is intact

Packing & Connection

Secure the column vertically on a stand, close the stopcock (if present)
Add eluent to wet the column, slowly add packing material and tap gently to ensure even settling
Connect the upper joint to a solvent reservoir or pump, open the stopcock to start chromatography

Cleaning & Maintenance

Immediately rinse the column with appropriate solvent after use to remove residues
If the frit is blocked, use ultrasonic cleaning or back-flushing
Store with joints clean and dry, wrap with soft paper to prevent sticking
