Product Description
The cylindrical separatory funnel features a tall, narrow cylindrical
body for liquid separation and controlled addition. Compared to
pear-shaped or spherical funnels, it offers greater liquid capacity
and a more regular shape that facilitates phase separation and control.
The thick-wall glass design ensures durability, and the body is
marked with clear graduations for accurate volume reading.
Manufactured from high-borosilicate glass 3.3, the product is available
in four configuration variants:
Standard (with stopper and stopcock, regular sealed operations),
Open-Top (without stopper, with stopcock, rapid addition),
Straight-Through (with stopper, without stopcock, direct transfer),
and Simple (without stopper and stopcock, basic transfer).
The top stopper is available in glass, PTFE, or plastic, while the
bottom stopcock is available in glass or PTFE. Both top and bottom
feature standard taper joints for secure connection to other apparatus.
The cylindrical design provides easier phase control during separation
and is ideal for liquid addition in multi-neck flask synthesis setups.
✦ Cylindrical Design Advantage: The narrow cylindrical body provides easier phase control during separation compared to pear-shaped funnels, and occupies less surface area on multi-neck flasks — ideal for reflux and stirred synthesis setups.
Key Features
- Borosilicate Glass 3.3: Low expansion, high temperature and chemical resistance, high strength, high clarity
- Thick-Wall Design: Durable, finely crafted, smooth surface
- Narrow Cylindrical Body: Regular interface for easier phase control during separation
- Clear Graduations: Precise volume markings for accurate liquid measurement
- Four Configuration Variants: Standard, Open-Top, Straight-Through, Simple
- Top Stopper Options: Glass (organic solvent compatible, high clarity), PTFE (resists all chemicals, no lubrication), Plastic (lightweight, cost-effective)
- Bottom Stopcock Options: PTFE (resists acids/bases, no lubrication, excellent seal) or Glass (organic solvent compatible, cost-effective)
Quality Assurance
Each cylindrical separatory funnel is inspected for dimensional accuracy,
stopcock seal integrity, and taper precision to ensure reliable sealing
with all standard joint components. Custom bulk orders are welcome.
Tip: The cylindrical separatory funnel is particularly
suitable for use with multi-neck flasks, occupying minimal surface area.
Check stopcock rotation and stopper seal before use. Glass stopcocks
may require a thin layer of vacuum grease; PTFE stopcocks require no
lubrication.
Cylindrical Separatory Funnel · Selection Guide
Five key dimensions determine the right cylindrical separatory funnel for your system: configuration variant, capacity, top stopper material, bottom stopcock material, and joint size.
