Product Description

The straight condenser is the most fundamental condensation device in standard joint glassware, widely used in distillation and reflux operations. Its straight inner tube design offers simple structure, stable condensation efficiency, and excellent resistance to clogging, making it particularly suitable for atmospheric distillation and low-boiling solvent recovery. The standard 1:10 taper ground glass joint ensures reliable sealing and interchangeability with all standard joint accessories. Manufactured from borosilicate glass 3.3, it offers excellent thermal and chemical resistance. Effective lengths range from 100mm to 1000mm to accommodate various experimental scales.

Key Features

  • Borosilicate Glass 3.3: ISO 3585 compliant, low expansion, thermal shock 280°C
  • Straight Inner Tube: Simple structure, clog resistant, easy to clean
  • Standard Joint: 1:10 taper, precision ground for reliable sealing
  • Multiple Sizes: Available in 14#, 19#, 24#, 29# joint sizes
  • Multiple Lengths: 100mm ~ 1000mm effective lengths
  • High Transparency: Easy observation of condensation process
  • Chemical Resistant: Suitable for various organic solvents

Quality Assurance

Every condenser undergoes strict dimensional inspection, joint taper testing, and thermal resistance testing to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Note: Ensure joints are clean and dry before use to prevent sticking. Cooling water should flow from the lower inlet to the upper outlet for optimal efficiency.

Tip: The straight condenser is the most versatile condensation device with simple structure and clog resistance. 24# and 29# sizes are available in 1000mm extra-long length for large-scale distillation and high-efficiency condensation. Use accessories of the same joint size for optimal sealing.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

03

Preparation

  • Inspect condenser for cracks, chips, or scratched joints
  • Clean joint surfaces with a soft cloth or cotton swab
  • Apply a small amount of vacuum grease if joints are too tight
04

Installation & Connection

  • Connect the condenser to the distillation head or flask via the joint
  • Insert with gentle twisting motion, do not force
  • Secure the condenser with a clamp for stability
  • Connect cooling water: lower inlet → upper outlet, ensure correct flow direction
05

Condensation Operation

  • Turn on cooling water before heating, maintain steady flow
  • Select appropriate coolant temperature based on solvent boiling point
  • Observe condensate drip rate, adjust heating power accordingly
  • Monitor condenser outer wall temperature to ensure cooling efficiency
  • For extra-long condensers (1000mm), increase water flow rate as needed
06

Disassembly & Cleaning

  • Stop heating first, continue cooling water flow for cool down
  • Turn off cooling water, gently twist to detach
  • Clean immediately after use to prevent residue buildup
  • Wash joints with soft brush and detergent, avoid hard objects
  • Air dry after washing, store with soft paper between joints

Safety Tips

  • Ensure cooling water connections are secure to prevent leaks
  • Control temperature carefully when evaporating flammable solvents
  • Always work in a fume hood when handling hazardous chemicals
Do not
  • Do not use cracked or chipped condensers for experiments
  • For 1000mm extra-long condensers, ensure vertical installation to avoid bending stress
