Product Description

I. Overview

The plastic carboy is an essential container for large volume liquid storage and dispensing in the laboratory. Manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) through precision injection molding, offering excellent chemical resistance and mechanical strength — a safe, shatterproof alternative to glass.

Equipped with a polypropylene (PP) spigot and leak-proof screw cap, with the spigot integrally molded with the bottle body for robust, leak-proof construction. Flow rate can be precisely adjusted by rotating the spigot or handle. Features molded graduation marks for easy volume monitoring.

Available in round and rectangular designs — rectangular design maximizes storage space efficiency. Capacities range from 2L to 50L, suitable for distilled water, reagents, media, and other large volume liquid storage and dispensing applications.

🔬 Design Features:
Round Carboy — Classic design for routine storage and dispensing.
Rectangular Carboy — Space-saving design for lab benches and refrigerators.
Spigot Design — Enables precise liquid dispensing, reducing spillage risk.

II. Core Performance Parameters

  • Material: High-density polyethylene (HDPE), spigot and cap: polypropylene (PP)
  • Process: Precision injection molding, integrally molded spigot
  • Sealing: PP leak-proof screw cap with sealing gasket
  • Temperature Range: -100℃ ~ 120℃
  • Chemical Compatibility: Dilute acids, dilute alkalis, salt solutions, most aqueous reagents
  • Sterilization: Autoclavable (121℃, 15psi)
  • Safety Certification: BPA-free, food-contact grade compliant

III. Material & Workmanship

Manufactured from imported high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin through precision injection molding. The bottle body is robust and durable, with the spigot integrally molded to eliminate leak risks. The cap is made of PP material with a silicone sealing gasket for reliable sealing.

All products are assembled and packaged in cleanroom environments to ensure contamination-free surfaces.

Selection Guide

I. By Shape

ApplicationRecommended ShapeReason
Routine lab bench storageRoundClassic design, flexible operation
Limited space (refrigerator, fume hood)RectangularMaximizes space efficiency
Large volume liquid dispensingRound / RectangularChoose based on space available

II. By Capacity

  • 2L / 3L / 5L: Small volume storage, routine reagent dispensing
  • 10L: Medium volume storage (most common)
  • 20L / 25L: Large volume storage, media preparation
  • 30L / 50L: Bulk liquid storage, industrial-scale applications

💡 Selection Tip: 10L round carboy is the most commonly used size for routine liquid storage and dispensing.
For space-saving, choose rectangular carboys.
For frequent liquid dispensing, choose models with spigot.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Below are standard operating guidelines for plastic carboys. Proper use ensures safe liquid storage and product longevity.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect for cracks, deformation, and spigot/cap integrity
  • Rinse with distilled or deionized water and air dry
  • Confirm material compatibility with the liquid
  • For sterile storage, autoclave before use (121℃)
04

II. Storage & Dispensing Operation

  1. Pour the liquid through the bottle opening
  2. Liquid level should not exceed the shoulder, leaving expansion space
  3. Align the screw cap and tighten clockwise to seal
  4. To dispense, open the spigot valve
  5. Adjust flow rate by rotating the spigot or handle
  6. Close the spigot valve and secure the cap after dispensing
05

III. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Rinse promptly after use and air dry
  • Stubborn residues: use mild neutral detergent, rinse with distilled water
  • Never use hard brushes or abrasives on the inner wall
  • Do not store corrosive reagents long-term
  • Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "The spigot is the carboy's best feature" — Spigot enables precise dispensing, reducing spills and waste.
"Rectangular saves space" — For refrigerator or fume hood storage, choose rectangular carboys.
"Label clearly" — Large containers are easily confused — label the contents and date prominently.
