Product Description

I. Overview

The plastic funnel is a common laboratory accessory for liquid transfer, filtration, and dispensing. Manufactured from high-clarity polypropylene (PP) through precision injection molding, featuring a smooth inner wall for smooth liquid flow and high clarity for easy observation.

Available in 50mm, 60mm, 60mm long, 75mm, 90mm, 100mm, 130mm, 150mm, and 180mm diameters to meet various capacity and application requirements. Compatible with a wide range of filter paper sizes for filtration operations.

Compared to glass funnels, plastic funnels are shatterproof and safer to use, and autoclavable. Suitable for teaching labs, routine chemical analysis, solution preparation, filtration, and more.

🔬 Product Advantages:
High-Clarity PP — Easy observation of liquid flow
Smooth Inner Wall — Smooth liquid flow, reducedresidue
Multiple Sizes — 50mm~180mm to meet various needs
Autoclavable — 121℃ sterilization for aseptic operations

Selection Guide

I. By Diameter

ApplicationRecommended DiameterReason
Small volume transfer, micro operations50mm / 60mmModerate size for small volumes
Routine liquid transfer, filtration75mm / 90mm / 100mmMost commonly used sizes
Large volume transfer, bulk filtration130mm / 150mm / 180mmLarge diameter for bulk operations
Narrow-mouth containers60mm longExtended stem for narrow mouth access

II. By Operation Type

  • Liquid Transfer: Choose standard funnels based on container neck size
  • Filtration: Choose funnel diameter matching the filter paper size
  • Narrow-Mouth Containers: Choose 60mm long or narrow-stem funnels

💡 Selection Tip: 90mm or 100mm plastic funnel is the most commonly used size.
For narrow-mouth containers, choose 60mm long.
For bulk filtration, choose 150mm or 180mm.
Funnel diameter should match filter paper size for optimal filtration efficiency.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Below are standard operating guidelines for plastic funnels. Proper use ensures experimental safety and product longevity.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect for cracks or deformation
  • Rinse with distilled or deionized water and air dry
  • Confirm material compatibility with the liquid
  • For sterile applications, autoclave before use (121℃)
04

II. Operation Guidelines

  1. Place the funnel over the receiving container opening
  2. For filtration, fold and place filter paper in the funnel, wet to adhere
  3. Pour liquid slowly along the funnel inner wall to avoid direct impact on the filter paper
  4. Liquid level should not exceed 2/3 of the funnel capacity
  5. After transfer, rinse the funnel inner wall with solvent
  6. Clean and air dry immediately after use
05

III. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean promptly after use and air dry
  • Stubborn residues: use mild neutral detergent, rinse with distilled water
  • Never use hard brushes or abrasives on the inner wall
  • Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "Pour along the wall to prevent splashing" — Pour slowly along the inner wall to avoid splashing.
"Wet the filter paper for a tight fit" — Wet the filter paper with solvent before filtration to ensure it adheres to the funnel wall.
"Do not overfill" — Keep liquid level below 2/3 of the funnel capacity to prevent overflow.
"Extended stem for narrow mouths" — Use 60mm long for narrow-mouth containers.
