Product Description

I. Overview

The hydrothermal reactor features a high-quality stainless steel shell with a high-purity PTFE liner. Utilizing strong acid or alkali in a sealed high-temperature/high-pressure environment, it enables rapid digestion of insoluble materials and hydrothermal synthesis of advanced materials.

Compared to standard glassware, hydrothermal reactors operate at 220℃ and 6MPa — providing an ideal environment for hydrothermal synthesis, nanomaterial preparation, crystal growth, and sample digestion. The PTFE liner is chemically inert to all reagents, ensuring samples remain free from metal ion contamination.

Available in 5ml, 10ml, 15ml, 25ml, 50ml, 100ml, 150ml, 200ml, 250ml, 500ml, and 1000ml sizes. Widely used in materials science, nanotechnology, environmental testing, pharmaceuticals, and geological exploration.

II. Core Performance Parameters

  • Shell Material: High-quality stainless steel (304/316L)
  • Liner Material: High-purity PTFE, ultra-low metal leaching (Pb, U < 0.01ppb)
  • Max Temperature: 220℃
  • Max Pressure: 6MPa
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to HF, aqua regia, concentrated H₂SO₄, HNO₃, strong alkalis, organic solvents
  • Sealing: Threaded screw seal

III. Material & Workmanship

The shell is precision-machined from high-quality stainless steel — offering excellent mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The PTFE liner is manufactured from imported high-purity resin using precision molding or machining — ensuring smooth, bubble-free, crack-free surfaces.

The stainless shell and PTFE liner fit together precisely. The threaded sealing design ensures reliable sealing under high-temperature/high-pressure conditions. Each product undergoes rigorous pressure testing and visual inspection.

Selection Guide

> 500ml1000mlIndustrial scale

II. By Reaction Conditions

  • Routine hydrothermal synthesis (< 200℃): Standard PTFE liner + 304 SS shell
  • High-temperature reactions (200℃~220℃): Standard PTFE liner + 304 SS shell
  • Highly corrosive media: PTFE liner + 316L SS shell
  • Ultra-trace analysis: PFA liner + 316L SS shell
  • High-pressure reactions (> 6MPa): Custom heavy-duty reactor

💡 Selection Tip: 50ml and 100ml are the most common lab sizes — choose these as your default.
Reactor capacity should be 1.5~2× the total reaction volume to allow expansion space.
For highly corrosive media (hydrofluoric acid), choose 316L SS shell with PTFE liner.
Reaction temperature should be 20℃ below the liner's maximum rating as a safety margin.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Standard operating guidelines for hydrothermal reactors. Proper use and maintenance ensure reaction safety and product longevity.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect all components — check PTFE liner for cracks or deformation
  • Check sealing surfaces for smoothness — no scratches or damage
  • Clean the PTFE liner with ultrapure water or 10% nitric acid
  • Confirm reactor capacity matches the total reaction volume (filling ≤ 80%)
04

II. Loading & Sealing

  1. Add reactants and solvent to the PTFE liner — filling volume ≤ 80%
  2. Place the PTFE liner into the stainless shell — ensure proper positioning
  3. Tighten the lid using a torque wrench to the recommended torque
  4. Check seal integrity — ensure the lid and body are properly aligned
05

III. Heating & Reaction

  • Place the sealed reactor in an oven or heating apparatus
  • Set temperature (not exceeding 220℃) and time according to the experimental protocol
  • Do not open the oven during heating — temperature fluctuations may occur
  • After the reaction, turn off the heat and allow cooling to room temperature
06

IV. Opening & Post-treatment

  • Allow the reactor to cool completely to room temperature before opening
  • Release residual pressure carefully when opening — prevent acid spray
  • Remove the PTFE liner and collect the reaction product
  • Clean the liner and shell — dry before storage
06

V. Important Notes

  • Do not exceed rated temperature and pressure
  • Do not use damaged or aged PTFE liners
  • Avoid contact with molten alkali metals (Na, K) and elemental fluorine
  • Regularly inspect sealing surfaces and threads — replace if damaged
  • Pressure test reactors annually to ensure safety performance

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "Don't overfill, don't overtighten" — Filling volume should be 60%~80% of the liner capacity to allow expansion space.
Do not over-tighten the lid — PTFE is soft and over-tightening can deform the liner or damage the sealing ring. Use a torque wrench for consistent results.
Tighten diagonally — hand-tighten first, then use a wrench to diagonally tighten in stages for uniform sealing.
Before placing in the oven, confirm the lid is fully sealed to prevent leakage under high temperature and pressure.
