High-purity PTFE -196℃ ~ 260℃ Permanent Molded Graduations Acid & Alkali Resistant

📐 Selection Guidelines: Graduated cylinder selection primarily considers measurement accuracy, transparency needs, and capacity. For level viewing → PFA (translucent) recommended. For routine corrosive liquid measurement → PTFE (opaque white). Choose capacity close to your target volume — smaller graduation intervals provide higher accuracy.

Product Description

I. Overview

The PTFE graduated cylinder is manufactured from high-purity PTFE resin through cold pressing and high-temperature sintering. PTFE offers exceptional chemical resistance and is inert to almost all chemicals and solvents, making it ideal for volume measurement of strong acids (including HF), strong alkalis, and various organic solvents.

Featuring clear graduations and a pouring spout, the graduations are created using molded-in technology — permanently integrated into the cylinder body and will never wear off. The smooth inner wall prevents liquid from clinging, ensuring accurate readings.

Available in sizes from 10ml to 1000ml, widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical, semiconductor, environmental testing, and food analysis industries.

II. Core Performance Parameters

  • Purity: High-purity PTFE with ultra-low metal leaching (Pb, U < 0.01ppb)
  • Operating Temperature: -196℃ ~ 260℃, short-term up to 300℃
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to HF, aqua regia, concentrated H₂SO₄, HNO₃, strong alkalis, and organic solvents
  • Surface Properties: Smooth non-wetting inner wall, easy to clean
  • Graduation Process: Molded-in, permanently clear

III. Material & Workmanship

Manufactured from imported high-purity PTFE resin, precision cold-pressed in molds, and sintered in high-temperature furnaces — ensuring dense structure, smooth surface, and bubble-free finish. Graduations are formed during the molding process, integrated into the cylinder body.

All products are assembled and packaged in cleanroom environments to ensure contamination-free surfaces.

Selection Guide

I. By Measurement Medium

MediumRecommended MaterialRecommended Capacity
Hydrofluoric Acid (HF)PTFE (only reliable choice)Based on volume
Aqua Regia / Concentrated AcidsPTFEBased on volume
Strong Alkali SolutionsPTFEBased on volume
Organic SolventsPTFEBased on volume
Ultrapure Water / Routine SolutionsPTFE / PFABased on volume

II. By Transparency Requirement

  • PTFE Cylinder: Opaque white — use auxiliary lighting or level indicator for reading
  • PFA Cylinder: Translucent — direct meniscus viewing for easier reading

III. By Capacity

  • 10ml ~ 25ml: Micro liquid measurement, precious samples
  • 50ml ~ 100ml: Routine laboratory liquid measurement
  • 250ml ~ 500ml: Large volume liquid measurement
  • 1000ml: Bulk liquid measurement

💡 Selection Tip: Choose a cylinder with capacity slightly larger than your sample volume — the liquid level should be in the upper-middle portion of the cylinder.
For ultra-trace analysis, PFA cylinders are recommended for ultra-low metal leaching.
For opaque PTFE cylinders, read with good lighting and use a level indicator if needed.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Standard operating guidelines for PTFE graduated cylinders. Proper use and maintenance ensure measurement accuracy and extend product life.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect the cylinder for cracks, deformations, and ensure graduations are clear
  • Clean the cylinder with ultrapure water or appropriate solvent to remove residues
  • For trace analysis applications, soak in 10% nitric acid for 24 hours, rinse thoroughly with ultrapure water, and dry
  • Ensure the cylinder is on a level, stable surface
04

II. Measurement Operation

  1. Place the cylinder on a level surface for stability
  2. Pour the liquid slowly down the inner wall to avoid bubbles
  3. After the liquid stabilizes, align your eye level with the meniscus
  4. For PTFE cylinders (opaque), use auxiliary lighting or a level indicator to assist reading
  5. Read the scale at the bottom of the meniscus
  6. Record readings to 1/2 of the smallest graduation
05

III. Pouring & Transfer

  • Pour slowly through the spout, using a glass rod to guide the flow and prevent splashing
  • After pouring, allow 15-30 seconds for residual liquid to drain down the inner wall
  • For complete transfer, rinse the inner wall 2-3 times with a small amount of solvent
06

IV. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Routine Cleaning: Clean promptly after use with a soft cloth or sponge and neutral detergent
  • Stubborn Residues: Soak in dilute nitric acid
  • Important: Do not use hard brushes or abrasives — they may scratch the inner surface and affect graduation accuracy
  • Calibration: Periodic calibration is recommended
06

V. Important Notes

  • Do not heat cylinders (PTFE is heat-resistant but cylinders are precision instruments — heating affects accuracy)
  • Avoid dropping or impact — PTFE is relatively soft
  • Do not use for long-term solution storage
  • Avoid contact with molten alkali metals (Na, K) and elemental fluorine

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "Level the cylinder, level your eye" — The cylinder must be on a level surface, and your eye must be level with the meniscus to avoid parallax error.
For opaque PTFE cylinders, place a white or black background behind the cylinder and use reflected light to help locate the meniscus.
Graduated cylinders are "to-deliver" vessels — the volume poured out equals the reading. Never heat cylinders or store solutions in them long-term.
