Product Description
The Agilent HPLC solvent inlet filter head is an inline filter
installed at the entrance of the mobile phase solvent bottle —
the first critical protective barrier in the HPLC system.
Its core function is to trap particulate matter, precipitates,
and microorganisms from mobile phases, buffers, and salt
solutions, preventing column clogging, pump seal wear, and
check valve failure — ensuring stable system operation and
extended column life.
Manufactured from high-quality borosilicate glass 3.3 with a
sintered fritted disc, the filter features uniform pore size
distribution and high filtration efficiency. Available in
analytical (20μm) and
preparative (40μm) specifications,
compatible with mainstream Agilent systems including 1100,
1200, 1260, and 1290 series. Complete with PTFE fittings for
excellent chemical compatibility, easy installation, and
reliable sealing.
✦ Key Advantages: Offering comparable
filtration precision and reliability to original OEM filters
at a more cost-effective price point. The glass frit structure
provides excellent permeability with low flow resistance;
high transparency allows easy visual inspection of filter
condition; cleanable and reusable for economic and
environmental benefits.
Key Features
- Borosilicate Glass 3.3: Chemically resistant, suitable for common HPLC solvent systems
- Sintered Frit: Uniform pore size, high filtration efficiency, 20μm/40μm options
- System Protection: Traps particles, precipitates, and microorganisms
- Broad Compatibility: Fits Agilent 1100/1200/1260/1290 series

Quality Assurance
Every filter head undergoes rigorous pore size inspection,
visual inspection, and seal integrity testing to ensure
perfect compatibility with Agilent HPLC systems. Bulk orders
support custom specifications — welcome to inquire.
Important: This product is made of glass
frit — DO NOT sonicate. For clogged filters,
soak in dilute nitric acid. Glass filters are NOT compatible
with hydrofluoric acid or strong alkaline systems — use
stainless steel filters for such applications.
Agilent HPLC Filter Head · Selection Guide
Selecting the right filter head involves three key considerations:
system type, tubing size, and
chemical system.
I. By System Type
| System Type | Recommended Pore Size | Fitting | Compatible Models |
| Analytical HPLC | 20μm | 5062-8517 (3mm) | 1100/1200/1260/1290 |
| Preparative HPLC | 40μm | G1361-23204/G1361-23205 | Preparative LC systems |
| Capillary/Nano LC | Stainless Steel | — | Capillary LC systems |
II. By Chemical System
| Chemical System | Recommended Material | Notes |
| Routine RP/NP solvents | Glass (20μm/40μm) | Organic solvent resistant, high transparency |
| Strong acid (non-HF) systems | Glass | Good acid resistance |
| Hydrofluoric acid systems | ❌ Glass NOT recommended | HF etches glass — use stainless steel |
| Strong alkaline systems | ❌ Glass NOT recommended | Strong bases etch glass — use stainless steel |
III. Quick Selection Checklist
- ① LC system type?
Analytical → 20μm (5041-2168) | Preparative → 40μm (3150-0944)
- ② Tubing outer diameter?
3.2mm → 5062-8517 | 4.0mm → G1361-23204 | 4.7mm → G1361-23205
- ③ Mobile phase contains HF or strong base?
Yes → Stainless Steel filter | No → Glass filter
