Description

The fritted filter ball is a spherical glass fritted filter that can be connected with barbed fittings, suitable for pressure or vacuum filtration of gases and liquids in the electronics and pharmaceutical industries. Made from high-quality borosilicate glass 3.3, it offers excellent physical and chemical properties with uniform pore size distribution.

The key design of the fritted filter ball features a spherical chamber combined with a sintered fritted disc: gas or liquid enters from one end, passes through the sintered frit inside the ball, and exits from the other end. Fritted disc grades cover the G1~G6 full range, with diameters from 30mm to 180mm — meeting diverse flow rate and filtration precision requirements.

✦ Key Advantages: Compared to conventional filtration devices, the spherical design offers low flow resistance and large filtration area. Firm welding overcomes the fragility of traditional glass filters. Uniform pore size distribution ensures consistent and reliable filtration results. Barbed fitting compatibility allows for easy installation.

Key Features

  • Borosilicate Glass 3.3: Chemical resistance, excellent physical and chemical properties
  • Sintered Fritted Disc: Uniform pore size, G1~G6 full range
  • Spherical Design: Low flow resistance, large filtration area
  • Firm Welding: Overcomes fragility of traditional glass filters
  • Wide Size Range: Diameters from 30mm to 180mm
  • Easy Installation: Barbed fitting compatible

Quality Assurance

Every fritted filter ball undergoes rigorous pore size inspection, visual inspection, and material testing to ensure the frit is intact, unclogged, and has uniform pore size. Bulk orders support custom diameters and fritted disc grades — welcome to inquire.

Tip: Inspect the fritted disc for cracks or clogging before use. Clean immediately after use to prevent residue from blocking the frit pores.

Operation & Maintenance

Fritted Filter Ball User Guide

03

I. Before Use

  • Inspect the fritted disc for cracks, defects, or clogging
  • Pre-wet the frit with appropriate solvent before use
  • Ensure tubing specifications are compatible
  • New filter balls should be pre-treated with acid solution
04

II. Installation & Use

  • Connect the fritted filter ball to tubing via barbed fittings
  • Connect both ends to feed and storage bottles using rubber tubing
  • Select pressure or vacuum mode based on filtration needs
  • Keep filtration pressure within safe limits
  • Monitor filtration effectiveness for any clogging
05

III. Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean immediately after use to prevent residue from hardening
  • Use a soft brush and appropriate detergent — never scrape the frit with hard objects
  • Stubborn clogs can be soaked in potassium dichromate-sulfuric acid cleaning solution
  • Air dry after cleaning; avoid impact

Fritted Filter Ball · Selection Guide

Selecting the right fritted filter ball involves three key considerations: fritted disc grade, diameter, and filtration type.

I. By Fritted Disc Grade

GradePore SizeBest For
G180~120μmCoarse particle filtration, coarse gas distribution
G210~15μmCoarse precipitate filtration, gas washing
G34.5~9μmFine precipitate filtration, mercury filtration
G43~7μmFine particle filtration
G5~G6<3μmUltrafine particle filtration, sterile filtration

II. By Diameter

DiameterFlow RateTypical Application
30mmLowMicro-scale gas or liquid filtration
65mmRoutineRoutine lab filtration
80mmMediumMedium-scale filtration
100mm+HighIndustrial-scale filtration

III. Quick Selection Guide

  • ① Filtration medium? Gas purification → G2-G3  |  Liquid filtration → G3-G4
  • ② Particle size? Coarse → G1-G2  |  Fine → G3-G4  |  Ultrafine → G5-G6
  • ③ Flow rate? Low → 30mm  |  Routine → 65-80mm  |  High → 100mm+
