Product Description

The double-end gas tube is a tubular accessory for connecting apparatus and transferring gases or liquids in standard taper glassware systems. Featuring a standard taper joint at each end, it connects directly to standard joint glassware without the need for rubber tubing transitions, reducing leak points and simplifying apparatus assembly.

The tube can serve as a reaction vessel for reactions requiring simultaneous introduction of two different materials or gas exchange. It can also be used for liquid storage and transfer, or as an intermediate connector in experimental setups.

Key Features

  • Borosilicate Glass 3.3: Meets ISO 3585, low thermal expansion, thermal shock resistance up to 280°C, excellent chemical durability
  • Multi‑Standard Compliance: Precision‑ground 1:10 taper meets GB/T, ASTM E, and ISO 3585 standard taper specifications for full interchangeability
  • Dual-End Connection: Standard joints at both ends allow direct connection without rubber tubing
  • Versatile Configurations: Straight (same joint size) and reducing (different joint sizes) options available
  • Optional Features: Side arm for gas introduction, stopper versions for sealed storage
  • High Clarity: Clear observation of reaction progress and material changes

Quality Assurance

Each double-end gas tube is inspected for taper accuracy and surface finish to ensure reliable sealing with all standard joint components. Custom bulk orders are welcome.

Tip: Ensure both joints are clean and dry before use. Insert with a gentle twisting motion. Reducing tubes are ideal for connecting apparatus of different sizes.

Applications

Typical Uses

Distillation

Connect distillation flasks and condensers

Gas Absorption

One end for gas in, other end connected to absorption media

Reaction Vessel

For reactions requiring two feed streams or gas exchange

Liquid Storage & Transfer

Store and transfer liquids between apparatus

Intermediate Connector

Connect and buffer between apparatus

Series Gas Lines

Chain multiple apparatus in gas pathways

Compatible Equipment

Standard joint flasks, reaction tubes, receiving vessels

Distillation heads, fractionating heads, condensers

Gas generators, absorption apparatus

Three-neck and four-neck flasks

Tip: Always use matching standard joint sizes for optimal sealing. Reducing tubes are ideal for connecting apparatus of different sizes.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

03

Before Use

  • Inspect for cracks, chips, or scratches on any joint
  • Clean both joints with a soft cloth to remove particulates
  • Confirm that both joint sizes match your apparatus
04

Installation

  • Align one joint with the first apparatus and gently twist to seat
  • Align the other joint with the second apparatus and gently twist to seat
  • Use a clamp on the tube body for support if needed
  • Verify all connections are secure and sealed
05

Side Arm Operation

  • Connect gas lines to the side arm using appropriate tubing
  • Use hose clamps to secure connections
  • Monitor gas flow direction for safety
06

Cleaning & Storage

  • Clean immediately after use to prevent residue buildup
  • Use soft brushes and appropriate detergents for the tube interior and joints
  • Air dry and store with protective paper between ground joints
  • Protect joints from impacts
