Product Description

The gas inlet tube is a fundamental accessory for connecting apparatus and transferring gases in standard taper glassware systems. One end features a precision-ground standard taper joint for secure connection to standard joint glassware, while the other end features a serrated hose connection for attaching rubber or plastic tubing.

Manufactured from high-borosilicate glass 3.3 with excellent chemical purity and resistance, the gas inlet tube resists reactions with experimental chemicals. The standard taper design ensures interchangeability with all standard joint glassware from different manufacturers. The tube withstands temperature changes and chemical exposure, making it suitable for a wide range of chemical environments.

Key Features

  • Borosilicate Glass 3.3: Meets ISO 3585, low thermal expansion, thermal shock resistance up to 280°C, excellent chemical durability
  • Multi‑Standard Compliance: Precision‑ground 1:10 taper meets GB/T, ASTM E, and ISO 3585 standard taper specifications for full interchangeability
  • Versatile: Compatible with all standard taper glassware for easy apparatus assembly
  • High Clarity: Visual observation of gas flow and condensation
  • Smooth Surface: Easy to clean, resists chemical adhesion
  • Multiple Configurations: Straight, bent (90°/105°), fritted, and with stopcock options

Quality Assurance

Each gas inlet tube is inspected for taper accuracy and surface finish to ensure reliable sealing with all standard joint components. Custom bulk orders are welcome.

Tip: Ensure joints are clean and dry before use. Use hose clamps to secure tubing connections. Custom lengths are available based on your apparatus setup.

Applications

Typical Uses

Gas Preparation & Collection

Connect gas generation and collection apparatus

Gas Property Experiments

Connect apparatus for gas oxidation, reduction, and acidity tests

Exhaust Gas Absorption

Connect to absorption apparatus for hazardous gas treatment

Distillation & Reflux

Gas line connections in distillation setups

Schlenk Line Operations

Gas introduction/evacuation in inert atmosphere work

Compatible Equipment

Standard joint flasks, reaction tubes, three-neck flasks

Gas generators, collection apparatus

Gas scrubbers, washing bottles

Distillation heads, fractionating heads, condensers

Schlenk lines, vacuum manifolds

Tip: Always use matching standard joint sizes for optimal sealing. Use hose clamps to secure tubing connections at the hose barb.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

03

Before Use

  • Inspect for cracks, chips, or scratches on any joint
  • Clean the joint surface with a soft cloth to remove particulates
  • Confirm that the joint size matches your apparatus
  • Prepare appropriate tubing for the hose connection
04

Installation

  • Align the joint with the receiving port and gently twist to seat
  • Attach tubing to the hose barb and secure with a hose clamp
  • Use a clamp on the tube body for support if needed
  • Check all connections for seal integrity before gas flow
05

Stopcock Operation (if equipped)

  • For glass stopcocks, apply a thin layer of vacuum grease if needed
  • PTFE stopcocks require no lubrication
  • Rotate the stopcock gently; avoid excessive force
06

Cleaning & Storage

  • Clean immediately after use to prevent blockage
  • Use soft brushes and appropriate detergents for the tube interior and joint
  • For fritted versions, clean the frit area carefully
  • Air dry and store with protective paper between ground joints
  • Protect joints from impacts
