Product Description

The standard joint Erlenmeyer flask is one of the most widely used reaction vessels in laboratory settings. Its distinctive conical design makes it ideal for swirling and mixing operations while effectively reducing splashing. The standard 1:10 taper ground glass joint enables leak-free connections with all matching standard joint accessories, making it an essential choice for titration, reflux, heating, and bacterial culture applications.

Key Features

  • Borosilicate Glass 3.3: ISO 3585 compliant, low expansion, thermal shock 280°C
  • Conical Design: Easy swirling, reduced splashing, ideal for titration
  • Standard Joint: 1:10 taper, precision ground for reliable sealing
  • Multiple Sizes: Available in 14#, 19#, 24#, 29# joint sizes
  • High Transparency: Easy observation of reactions
  • Chemical Resistant: Suitable for most organic solvents
  • Narrow Mouth: Reduced evaporation, ideal for volatile samples

Quality Assurance

Every flask undergoes strict dimensional inspection, joint taper testing, and thermal resistance testing to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Note: Ensure joints are clean and dry before use to prevent sticking. Use palm or stopper to seal when swirling. Use heating mantles or water baths for uniform heating.

Applications

Typical Applications

Titration

Acid-base titrations, redox titrations, quantitative analysis

Organic Synthesis

Reflux reactions, heating, swirling mixing

Microbiology

Bacterial culture, shake flask culture

Pharmaceutical R&D

Intermediate synthesis, sample preparation

Education

University chemistry lab teaching

Analytical Chemistry

Sample preparation, solution preparation

Compatible Equipment

Heating mantles, water baths, shakers

Standard joint condensers, distillation heads, fractionating heads

Burettes, pipettes, and other analytical tools

Tip: The Erlenmeyer flask is the preferred vessel for titration analysis. The conical design facilitates swirling and observation. Use accessories of the same joint size for optimal sealing.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

03

Preparation

  • Inspect flask for cracks, chips, or scratched joints
  • Clean joint surfaces with a soft cloth or cotton swab
  • Apply a small amount of vacuum grease if joints are too tight (avoid sample contamination)
04

Swirling & Mixing

  • Seal the mouth with palm or stopper before swirling
  • Swirl in a circular motion for thorough mixing
  • Control the amplitude to avoid splashing
05

Heating

  • Use heating mantles or water baths for uniform heating
  • Fill no more than 2/3 capacity to prevent boiling over
  • Always heat gradually, avoid sudden temperature changes
06

Assembly & Disassembly

  • Insert with gentle twisting motion, do not force
  • Remove by gently twisting, avoid pulling straight out
  • For stuck joints, try heating the outer wall with a hairdryer
06

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean immediately after use to prevent residue buildup
  • Wash joints with soft brush and detergent, avoid hard objects
  • Air dry after washing, store with soft paper between joints

Safety Tips

  • Watch temperature gradients during heating
  • Always work in a fume hood when handling hazardous chemicals
Do not
  • Do not use cracked or chipped flasks for heating or vacuum work
  • Add titrant slowly during titration to avoid overshooting
