Product Description

I. Overview

The plastic cell culture plate is an essential consumable for high-throughput cell culture and drug screening in the laboratory. Manufactured from high-clarity polystyrene (PS) through precision injection molding, featuring a flat, smooth plate body with uniform well bottoms and high transparency for easy microscopic observation of cell morphology.

Available in 6-well, 12-well, 24-well, 48-well, and 96-well formats to meet different throughput requirements. Available in TC-treated and super-hydrophilic treated surfaces — TC-treated surfaces are suitable for adhesion and spreading of common cell lines; super-hydrophilic treated surfaces are suitable for difficult-to-culture cells or low-serum conditions. Sterilized by gamma irradiation, sterile individually wrapped, DNase/RNase-free, pyrogen-free, and non-cytotoxic.

The plate design complies with SBS standards (ANSI/SLAS 1-2004), compatible with most automated liquid handling workstations and plate readers. Suitable for high-throughput cell culture, drug screening, cell proliferation and cytotoxicity assays, and more.

🔬 Product Advantages:

III. Material & Workmanship

Manufactured from medical-grade polystyrene (PS) resin in a cleanroom environment. The plate body is flat and smooth with uniform well bottoms to ensure consistent culture conditions across all wells. The lid fits securely to prevent cross-contamination.

Surface treatment is applied using vacuum plasma treatment technology to ensure surface hydrophilicity and uniformity. Super-hydrophilic surfaces are modified with special chemical treatments to enhance cell adhesion and growth efficiency. Every batch undergoes rigorous dimensional and visual inspection to ensure consistent quality.

Selection Guide

I. By Format

ApplicationRecommended FormatUse Case
Small-scale culture, cell passaging6-well / 12-wellSmall samples, precious cell lines
Medium-throughput screening24-well / 48-wellRoutine drug screening, cell assays
High-throughput screening96-wellLarge-scale drug screening, proliferation assays

II. By Surface Treatment

Culture RequirementRecommended SurfaceCell/Application Type
Suspension cell cultureUntreatedSuspension cell lines, microbial culture
Routine adherent cell cultureTC-treatedHeLa, 293, MCF-7 and common cell lines
Difficult cells, primary cellsSuper-hydrophilicPrimary cells, transfected lines, serum-free culture

💡 Selection Tip: 96-well TC-treated plate is the most commonly used format for high-throughput screening.
For cell passaging and expansion, choose 6-well or 12-well.
For high-throughput drug screening, choose 96-well.
For difficult cells or primary cells, choose super-hydrophilic surface.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Below are standard operating guidelines for plastic cell culture plates. Proper use ensures culture results and experimental reliability.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect packaging integrity and plate condition
  • Check the sterilization expiry date
  • Perform all operations in a laminar flow hood or biosafety cabinet
  • Prepare culture media, cell suspension, and other materials
04

II. Culture Operation

  1. Open the sterile packaging in the laminar flow hood
  2. Add cell suspension to each well according to the experimental design
  3. Gently shake the plate to distribute cells evenly
  4. Cover with the lid and place in the incubator
  5. Monitor cell growth regularly as required
  6. For assays, process according to the detection method
05

III. Disposal

  • Dispose of used plates in biohazard waste containers
  • Plates used for cell culture should be disposed according to biosafety regulations

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "Sterile technique is the lifeline of cell culture" — All operations must be performed in a laminar flow hood or biosafety cabinet.
"Add gently to avoid bubbles" — Add against the wall to avoid bubbles that affect cell distribution.
"96-well for high-throughput, 6-well for passaging" — Choose the right format for your experiment.
"Label clearly" — Mark the lid or plate side with cell name, passage number, date, etc.
