Product Description

I. Overview

PTFE scissors are precision-manufactured from high-purity PTFE resin, available in full PTFE and stainless handle + PTFE tip versions. Full PTFE scissors are designed for highly corrosive environments ensuring zero metal ion contamination. Stainless handle + PTFE tip scissors offer superior mechanical strength and handling comfort for routine use.

PTFE's extremely low surface tension (18.5 mN/m) provides non-stick properties — minimal material residue and easy cleaning. Exceptional chemical resistance makes them safe for cutting operations in strong acids, alkalis, and organic solvents.

Standard size is 14cm overall length with precision-ground blades for sharp, effortless cutting. Widely used in pharmaceutical, chemical, environmental testing, materials science, and food analysis laboratories.

Stainless handle + PTFE tip scissors combine stainless steel handles with precision-attached PTFE blades — offering excellent mechanical strength and chemical inertness. Ergonomic handles provide comfortable grip and effortless operation.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Standard operating guidelines for PTFE scissors. Proper use and maintenance ensure cutting performance and product longevity.

I. Pre-use Preparation

Inspect blades for integrity — no nicks or deformation
Check pivot action — smooth opening and closing
Clean with ultrapure water or appropriate solvent to remove surface particles
For cleanroom applications, open and use in a clean environment

II. Cutting Operation

Hold the handles and position the material between the blades
Apply even pressure — cut smoothly, avoid excessive force that may deform the material or damage blades
For thicker or harder materials, use multiple passes rather than cutting all at once
After cutting, gently open and close the scissors to clear blade residue

III. Cleaning & Maintenance

Clean with ultrapure water or appropriate solvent after use — PTFE's non-stick surface makes cleaning easy
Stubborn residues may be soaked in dilute nitric acid
Air dry or wipe dry
If the pivot becomes stiff, apply PTFE lubricant sparingly
Store in a clean, dry location — avoid blade deformation from pressure

IV. Important Notes

Avoid impact with hard objects — prevent blade nicks or deformation
Avoid exceeding rated temperature during prolonged use
Never use hard brushes or abrasives for cleaning
Full PTFE scissors are relatively soft — use care when cutting hard materials
For stainless handle + PTFE tip scissors, avoid impact between PTFE blades and hard surfaces

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "PTFE scissors — cut gently, cut smoothly" — PTFE is relatively soft, avoid excessive force that may damage the blades or cause deformation. Use smooth, even pressure and avoid twisting the scissors.
For cutting PTFE film, fold the film first for a cleaner, straighter cut.
After cutting adhesive materials, clean the blades immediately with solvent to prevent residue hardening.
When using Full PTFE scissors, be mindful of force control — avoid deformation from excessive pressure.
