Product Description

I. Overview

The plastic centrifuge tube is an essential consumable for sample separation and processing in the laboratory. Manufactured from high-purity polypropylene (PP) through precision injection molding, featuring high clarity, smooth surface, and low protein binding.

Available in conical and self-standing bottom styles. The conical bottom design ensures efficient pellet recovery after centrifugation, while the self-standing bottom allows tubes to stand upright for sample storage. Caps are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with leak-proof sealing.

Features clear printed graduations and a white marking area. Sterilized by gamma irradiation, certified DNase/RNase-free and pyrogen-free. Suitable for cell culture, nucleic acid extraction, protein purification, blood separation, and cryopreservation.

🔬 Bottom Style Selection:
Conical Bottom — Pellets concentrate at the tube tip for efficient recovery. Ideal for cell pellets, microbial collection, nucleic acid/protein extraction.
Self-standing Bottom — Flat bottom allows tubes to stand upright. Ideal for sample storage, media storage, and routine non-centrifugation operations.

II. Core Performance Parameters

  • Tube Material: Polypropylene (PP), high clarity, low protein binding
  • Cap Material: High-density polyethylene (HDPE), leak-proof seal
  • Bottom Types: Conical / Self-standing / Round
  • Capacities: 15ml, 50ml
  • Max RCF: 12000-15500xg (varies by size and bottom type)
  • Temperature Range: -80℃ ~ 121℃
  • Sterilization: Gamma irradiated
  • Quality: Sterile, pyrogen-free, DNase/RNase-free
  • Graduations: Molded/printed graduations with white marking area

III. Material & Workmanship

Manufactured from medical-grade polypropylene (PP) resin through precision injection molding. Tubes feature uniform wall thickness, high clarity, and smooth surfaces that minimize sampleresidue and protein binding.

Caps are made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a sealing ring design to prevent leakage during high-speed centrifugation. Tubes feature clear black printed graduations and a white marking area for easy labeling.

All products are manufactured and packaged in cleanroom environments and sterilized by gamma irradiation.

Selection Guide

I. By Bottom Type

ApplicationRecommended BottomReason
Cell pelleting, microbial collectionConicalPellets concentrate at tip for recovery
Nucleic acid/protein extractionConicalEfficient pellet recovery
Sample storage, media storageSelf-standingStands upright for easy handling
Routine non-centrifugation operationsSelf-standing / RoundStable tube positioning

II. By Capacity

  • 15ml: Routine cell culture, small-volume sample separation, nucleic acid extraction, protein purification
  • 50ml: Large-volume cell culture, blood sample separation, tissue homogenization, bulk sample processing

III. By RCF Rating

  • ≤ 3000xg: Self-standing tubes
  • ≤ 12000xg: 15ml conical tubes
  • ≤ 15500xg: 50ml conical tubes

💡 Selection Tip: 15ml conical is the most commonly used centrifuge tube size.
For efficient pellet recovery, choose conical bottom.
For sample storage or frequent access, choose self-standing.
For high-speed centrifugation (>12000xg), choose 50ml conical.

Operation & Maintenance

User Guide

Below are standard operating guidelines for plastic centrifuge tubes. Proper use ensures experimental safety and product performance.

03

I. Pre-use Preparation

  • Inspect for cracks, deformation, and cap seal integrity
  • Confirm material compatibility with the sample
  • Verify the tube's maximum RCF rating before use
  • For sterile applications, confirm package integrity
04

II. Centrifugation Operation

  1. Add sample to the tube, not exceeding the marked capacity
  2. Tighten the cap clockwise to ensure a secure seal
  3. Check that the cap is fully tightened before centrifugation to prevent cap blow-off
  4. Place tubes symmetrically in the rotor with proper balancing
  5. Set centrifugation parameters within the tube's RCF rating
  6. After centrifugation, carefully remove tubes to avoid disturbance
05

III. Cleaning & Disposal

  • Single-use tubes are recommended for one-time use to avoid contamination
  • If reusing, rinse promptly after use and air dry
  • Never use hard brushes or abrasives on the inner wall
  • Biohazardous samples should be disposed of according to biological safety regulations

💡 From a Seasoned Lab Technician: "Conical for pellets, self-standing for storage" — Use conical for pellet recovery, self-standing for sample storage.
"Balance precisely, seal tightly" — Always balance and tighten caps before centrifugation to prevent rotor imbalance and sample leakage.
"For -80℃ storage, seal is critical" — Ensure caps are fully sealed for cryopreservation to prevent contamination and evaporation.
